“The burden of Egypt. “Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. Obadiah 1:10-16, 18 — The Judgment on Edom

JONAH

Jonah 3:4, 10 — Nineveh Repents
“And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown… And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.”

Note: The book of Jonah records the exception — the one nation that repented and was spared. The pattern across the other prophets is judgment. Jonah is the witness that judgment is not inevitable for those who turn.
